The Shift Series in association with NITI Aayog and tGELF (The Global Education and Leadership Foundation) brought what they called the “Road to Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES)”, an important Indo-US initiative under the Trump administration.
As part of the ‘ROAD TO GES’, The Shift Series will be organizing a series of events the focus of which would be to highlight the critical role that women have in changing the world.
The first of these events was held in New Delhi at The Q’la on Saturday, November 11, 2017. A curated experience, the topic was “enGENDERed Dialogues…Women Changing the World” which aims to give rise to conversations around the central theme of women overcoming limitations, going on to actualize their unlimited potential and taking their place in the new world order.
From grassroots warriors to theatre and TV personalities, no topic concerning women empowerment and upliftment was left untouched at the event. The speakers moved the audience from tear to laughter through their no holds barred presentation. Surviving sexual assault to fighting the forest mafias, the speakers shared their deepest personal journey at The Shift Series event “enGENDERed Dialogues”.
The engaging line up of speakers included Pooja Bedi who gave us all an insight into her life thus far. A bundle of energy, Pooja spoke of her battles with the loss of loved ones, marriage breakdown and facing the challenge of being a single mother of two. Other speakers included gender rights champion & entrepreneur, Sapna Bhavnani, Mahabanoo Mody-Kotwal, director of the famous Vagina Monologues and Lady Tarzan, Jamuna Tudu.
In summary, the event addressed some poignant points and offered enough real life experiences from women, for women.
